Goodnight visits Chile to develop doctoral program at Catolica University

Communication professor and director of doctoral studies Tom Goodnight visited the Catolica University in Santiago, Chile in July and August to work with faculty on the development of a doctoral program, the first of its kind for the studies of Communication in the Americas. Goodnight talked with faculty about projects ranging across journalism, media production, organizational communication and education. He also hosted a seminar that worked on the question: "How can discourse and content analyses be used to study emergent patterns and practices of communication on the Internet?" The visit continued an exchange initiative between USC and Catolica. Goodnight's visit was sponsored by the Fulbright Commission and the Council on the International Exchange of Scholars, which have appointed him to a five-year position as a senior specialist in Communications and Journalism.
