The Knight Digital Media Center announced the winners of the 2013 Knight Community Information Challenge, awarding ten local information projects that aim at improving the interaction between people and their governments. An attorney and former U.S. Congressman, Levine is a Director of the Pacific Council on International Policy and has served as U.S. Chair of the U.S.-Israel-Palestinian "Anti-Incitement" committee. "Mel Levine’s international experience, and knowledge of United States policy and governance will help CPD position itself even more prominently in the global dialogue on public diplomacy,” said Ernest J. Wilson, Dean of the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.
