The New York Times published a Sept. 8 op-ed by professor Diane Winston, USC Annenberg's Knight Chair in Media and Religion. In the article, "Spreading the Good Word, Now Online," Winston discussed the benefits of using the Internet as a space for spiritual communities to congregate. "The virtual experience can entice online visitors to try the real thing in person," Winston wrote. "Researchers say Web-based activities strengthen congregations by enabling users to find like-minded believers, religion classes, opportunities for mission and service, inspirational readings and even virtual worship. " You can read about more of Winston's work here: Transmissions Full Article
