Communication and journalism professor Josh Kun, director of the Popular Music Project at USC Annenberg’s Normal Lear Center, curated an event with a diverse all-star line-up of musicians, writers, and Boyle Heights locals along with video, rare photos and spoken word tributes. This showcase of Jewish, Japanese and Mexican music and culture will take place at the landmark Phillips Music company store on Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. as a part of the Phillips Grand Performances.
