Aa the first in a three-part series through The Women’s Leadership Society (WLS) at USC Annenberg’s M{2e} Center, Nely Galán visited campus on Jan. 18. “How to Become Self-Made” was a workshop stemming from Nely Galán’s New York Times bestselling book on the entrepreneurial mindset, Self Made: Becoming Empowered, Self-Reliant, and Rich in Every Way. In this unique workshop, Galán shared her philosophy on what it takes to start and run a business, beginning by working for others, while always thinking like an owner. She focused on describing concrete steps that women, people of color and members of under-represented groups can take to cultivate the attitude, create the plan and execute the strategy and tactics required to make the dream of financial empowerment and independence a reality.
