Almost 600 new students —including almost 300 undergraduates and almost 300 graduate students — are enrolled for the fall semester. There are eighteen first-year doctoral students.

"These are some of the most outstanding students in the world," Dean Wilson said. "I'm thrilled to see what they will accomplish during their time at USC Annenberg and to see the impact they will make throughout their lives."

The School also welcomes 11 new faculty members, including Gabriel Kahn, Lian Jian, Paolo Sigismondi, Ergin Bayrak, Burghardt Tenderich, Kjerstin Thorson, Yu Hong, Mathew Curtis, Mary Murphy, Dorine Lawrence Hughes and James Maritato.

Kahn, Jian, Sigismondi and Bayrak were hired as part of the School's economic literacy initiative.

“Our goal is to be one of the world leaders in economic literacy and analysis among media schools globally," Dean Wilson said. "The addition of these new faculty members demonstrates USC Annenberg’s continuing commitment to providing our students the curriculum, programs and learning opportunities necessary for success in the rapidly changing fields of communication and journalism.”

The popular iLab Workshops in room 229 also return this semester. These optional workshops will run from 1-3 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays and are first come, first serve. Most workshops run about 60-90 minutes with 30 minutes scheduled after for practice and question time. Workshops with the same titles are repeats so you will only need to come Monday or Tuesday.
