USC Annenberg is saddened by death of longtime staff member Tim Miller

USC Annenberg mourns the death of Tim Miller (pictured), who worked at the School for 12 years, including more than eight as a full-time employee in the Facilities and Technology, Multimedia Technologies department. He battled multiple illnesses during the last few months before passing away early Saturday morning.

Tim will be remembered for his charm, passion for work and ability to brighten the lives of students, faculty and other staff.

Below are comments from Tim's longtime colleague Chuck Boyles, USC Annenberg's director of multimedia technologies.

I am saddened to tell you that our colleague Timothy Glen Miller has passed away. Tim worked for Annenberg for over 12 years and during this time he was a valued teammate of the Facilities and Technology, Multimedia Technologies department.

Tim was experienced in “old school” television production — and even though broadcast equipment and the way we view video has greatly changed, Tim’s fundamental production values were of great benefit to all the students he helped daily in the Equipment Room. Tim was here when we built the Annenberg Equipment Room and was the first one to jokingly call it the Annenberg "ER." It became a fitting nickname considering the amount of equipment/student triage given there on a daily basis.

Tim was one of the most dedicated, dependable, enthusiastic, outgoing and helpful people I have ever met. Tim treated everyone special. He liked to pass out candy and cookies while using the words “schmooze” and “chill”. He would sign off every e-mail with “Peace and Love” which recently shifted to “Shalom and Love.” Tim respected everyone’s beliefs and it was never a surprise to find a holiday or thank you card on your desk. He loved Annenberg and he loved working here. Tim was unique and while we are all unique, there will never be another Tim Miller.

His passing comes as a total shock to all of us. His teammates, colleagues, the faculty and the students that knew him will miss him greatly.
