Communication and journalism professor Josh Kun is showcasing a myraid of different exhibitions this fall in the Getty's Pacific Standard Times series.
Kun's music installation on post-WWII Mexican pop modernism in Los Angeles is part of the exhibition Mex/LA: Mexican Modernism(s) in Los Angeles at the Museum of Latin American Art and his essay on the subject is published in the exhibition catalog.
- Also, his audio-visual installation on the cross-border music of Tijuana in the 1960s is part of an exhibition in Sonoma Valley Museum titled: "Sonido Pirata: What You Need You Have To Borrow." He will deliver a live, improvised lecture with DJs Julio Cesar Morales and Eamon Ore-Giron on Sept. 17.
- Kun's essay on Patssi Valdez's "L.A.T.J." appeared in the catalog for the LACMA exhibition ASCO: Elite of the Obscure.
