Fisher honored by USC 125
USC's 125th Anniversary committee honored emeritus communication professor Walter R. Fisher at a gala reception during the 15th biennial Congress of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric. Fisher, former director of the School of Communication, is a pioneer in the study of rhetorical theory and criticism and author of several leading texts in the field. He was honored along with emeritus English professor Ross Winterowd and linguistics and law professor Edward Finegan for their contributions to the interdisciplinary tradition of rhetorical study at USC. The reception, which took place Thursday, July 14, is part of the USC 125th Anniversary Project , a yearlong celebration of the school's quasquicentennial.
