Investigative series reveals escalating hunger crisis in California
Exploring a new model to increase investigative reporting coverage in the United States, USC Annenberg and the Center for Investigative Reporting partnered to produce an online multimedia project about the Iraq war’s impact on Southern California. The project was produced by a mix of graduate and undergraduate students in a class taught by journalism professor Sandy Tolan
Annenberg Radio News -– a new Web site with audio stories written and broadcast by students –- is now online. Listen to stories about Michael Moore’s recent USC visit, reaction to the Presidential Election, and other work. The staff includes students from the Public Radio News Production class (Journalism 409) taught by journalism professor, NPR commentator and ABC News correspondent Judy Muller (pictured).
Jesse Aron , a senior broadcast journalism student at the USC Annenberg School for Communication, is the 2005 recipient of the Chick Hearn Memorial Scholarship . The $5,000 scholarship is funded by an endowment established by the Los Angeles Lakers in memory of legendary sports broadcaster Chick Hearn, who died in 2002.
