Join the USC Annenberg Bass Lab for a fall lunch and learn event with Professor Melanie Cherry. Grab a boxed lunch, meet fellow Annenberg students, and hear from Cherry, a communications strategist with more than 20 years of agency, corporate, and nonprofit experience spanning the entertainment, fashion, sports, hospitality, and finance industries. Cherry will dive deep into the current trends, challenges, and opportunities present in the PR fields and offer valuable insight into how to launch a career. 

A Los Angeles transplant, Cherry was most recently responsible for the branding and marketing of the Cayton Children’s Museum in Santa Monica. As marketing director, she developed the fledgling museum’s integrated communication strategies as she oversaw all marketing and PR initiatives. Cherry started her communications career in New York at boutique agencies and award-winning PR firms, working with clients such as Nike, New Balance, Popeyes Louisiana Chicken, and Toyota. Just before moving to LA, Cherry managed the marketing communications and digital strategy for Carnegie Hall and BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). Cherry received an MA in public relations and a BS in information systems technology from Syracuse University.
