Join Professor Jeff Fellenzer and his “Sports, Business and Media in Today's Society” class for a timely session exploring "The Athlete-Media Dynamic and Athlete Activism" with former Major League Baseball star Doug Glanville, now a prominent ESPN baseball analyst, New York Times contributing writer, podcast host, author and University of Connecticut professor teaching “Sport and Society.”

The discussion will explore recent events in professional sports involving the empowerment of athletes to impact social justice and racial equality, and the evolving and complex relationship between athletes and the media. Glanville, who graduated from Penn with a degree in systems science and engineering, is the first African-American Ivy League graduate to play in the major leagues, and has become an important and impactful voice on a variety of media platforms.
