The USC Annenberg Charlotta Bass Journalism & Justice Lab will celebrate Charlotta Bass Day at Wallis Annenberg Hall with special guest Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz. Shabazz will premiere her Interactive Interview, made in collaboration with the USC Libraries, for The Second Draft Project. This groundbreaking interactive oral history series highlights the voices of Black Americans who are connected to pivotal moments in our nation’s fight for social justice, offering them a chance to illuminate history’s often skewed record. Bass Lab founding director Allissa V. Richardson will moderate a discussion with Shabazz who will discuss her family’s civil rights legacy. A luncheon will follow. RSVP now.

Shabazz is an author, social activist, community organizer, and the third daughter of civil rights icons Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz.
