Meet Marcy.
She is a 2nd year MCM student. When she isn't in the classroom, she runs the social media for a plus-sized company in Los Angeles. But that's not all. She also works as a freelance style expert and host on television. Working freelance is not always easy, and she says, "I’m currently trying to balance my day job, which is my bread and butter, with my freelance work and school. What is tricky about freelance is when it rains, it pours and when it’s dry, it’s a desert." Despite the difficulty of the industry, she has been featured on shows like Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray, and most recently Hallmark Home & Family.
Her career in television was a natural fit for her personality. She said, "It’s always been my passion to help people, and I feel I have been given a voice. I have always been the mother hen in my group and the hub for advice and info. So that has translated into this on-camera personality that seems like a natural fit for who I am. It’s a lofty goal, so I’m very realistic about the future. My goal was to be on TV by the time I was 30 and I have accomplished that. My next goal is to have a full time job on TV by 35.... I have a lot of irons in the fire and I want to make sure one of them will spark." With all of her talent and drive, there is no doubt she will get more than just a spark in her career.
