Press Club SoCal Journalism Awards and received recognition for her blog, WaxWord, which won Best Entertainment Blog at the National Entertainment Journalism Awards in 2024.
A leading authority on entertainment and media, Waxman previously served as Hollywood correspondent for The New York Times and spent eight years at The Washington Post. As a foreign correspondent, she covered Europe and the Middle East for a decade, earning a Pulitzer Prize nomination in 1999 for her reporting on the Second Palestinian Intifada and winning the Penney Award for feature writing in 2000.
She is the author of two books, including Rebels on the Backlot: Six Maverick Directors and How They Conquered the Hollywood Studio System.
