Daniela Kon Lieberberg is a global media executive, social entrepreneur, and veteran impact producer with over two decades of experience driving social change through non-fiction storytelling. She is the founder of the Social Impact Media Awards and SIMA Studios, a global impact media agency that transformed documentary distribution to serve filmmakers, educators, and changemakers across the globe. SIMA’s platforms drive systemic change in how social issues are understood and addressed, empowering community-driven impact and global citizenship education in over 100 countries, and fostering critical dialogue, coalition building, and community action. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she began her career in New York, working with Emmy-winning director Marc Levin at Blowback Productions. In 2005, she founded DEEDA, one of the first impact agencies dedicated to advancing global humanitarian and human rights initiatives. From the United Nations Ending Hunger Campaign to community programs in post-conflict regions, she worked with NGOs, IGOs, and aid organizations across Southeast Asia, West Africa, and the Middle East. Committed to advancing the ecosystem and global discourse on media and social impact, Lieberberg founded SIMA in 2012. She joined the board of the Film and Women’s Rights Committee of Human Rights Watch in 2013 and remains a consultant for international film and advocacy campaigns.
