Journalism professor Roberto Suro wrote an Oct. 21 op-ed for The Washington Post that discusses Americans’ paradoxical views on immigration. Suro wrote that the image of immigration has changed from the statue of liberty to the petty thief who steals jobs from hardworking Americans. “We love immigration looking backward, but we are apprehensive looking forward,” he said.
