KCET-TV partners with USC Annenberg students to blog about policy in LA

KCET-TV has launched a blog written with the help of USC Annenberg graduate students that analyzes Los Angeles policy decisions.

A recent post written by second-year Broadcast Journalism graduate student Arika Sato discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Twitter accounts that inform drivers of DUI checkpoint locations. “Although [Twitter accounts like @CheckpointsDUI are] an advantage to L.A. drivers, will these Twitter alerts help decrease DUIs or will this make DUI offenders drive another way?”

Graduate student Ryan Faughnder wrote “Sheriff Baca Speaks Out on Religious Tolerance.” Faughnder wrote about LA County Sheriff Baca's interfaith peace and harmony lecture called in memory of 9/11. Faughnder quoted Baca: “We as a society in America are blessed because of our diversity. The future is that all governments, local, state and national, have an obligation to guarantee religious diversity."
