In a country and a school torn by social and racial strife, the 1971 USC Trojans football team had seemed to under-perform, holding a mediocre 6-4-1 record. The next season the same team would come together to go undefeated, win a national championship and be declared the “Greatest College Football Team of All Time”, a title some experts continue to give the team. Eight of the remaining players from that team will join us to discuss the challenges of the time and the social and personal change that remade the team. Our guests will include NFL All-Pro tight end Charles Young, running back Rod McNeil, Mike Ryan, Dave Brown, George Follette, Greg Marderian, Tom Bohlinger, and Dean Lingenfelter.
