M{2e}’s Women’s Leadership Society (WLS) is pleased to host Kirstin Benson (BA, Communication; MA, Communication Management in the Entertainment Industry; USC Annenberg), Vice President, Global Entertainment at Getty Images, for the next installment of the WLS Young Alumni Series.

Kirstin will share her perspectives on the rapidly evolving landscape for visual communications, particularly with respect to the circulation of celebrity and pop culture imagery in a multiplatform, on-demand world.

Kirstin joined Getty Images from Time Inc. (now Meredith Corp.), where she was the co-founder and Editorial Director of Instant — an all-video, first-of-its-kind outlet dedicated to the world of social media stars.

Having worked as a digital content creator as well as in front of the camera, Kirstin brings with her a unique perspective on the entertainment, pop culture, and digital worlds.

Prior to joining TIME Inc., Kirstin was the Editor-in-Chief of WhoSay, where she oversaw content, social media, and partnerships. While there, she worked closely with talent such as Caitlyn Jenner, Reba McEntire and more to amplify their messages and syndicate their op-eds across outlets like ABC News, People, Time, and others.

No stranger to startups, she served as the Director of Entertainment and Engagement at ConnecTV and was an instrumental member in launching Bonnie Fuller’s digital venture, HollywoodLife.com, at Penske Media Corporation. Kirstin has served as a contributor to Parade Magazine and E! Online, has produced the Primetime Emmys’ Backstage Live! show for the past five years and is a member of the Primetime Emmy Awards Digital Committee.

In addition to her degrees from USC Annenberg, Kirstin also holds a BA degree from USC’s School of Dramatic Arts.

Refreshment and light dinner service will be provided.
