M{2e}’s Women’s Leadership Society (WLS) is pleased to host Alexis Miller (BA, Interactive Media & Game Design ’16), user experience designer at Amazon, for the next installment of the WLS Young Alumni in Tech Series.

Alexis will share her journey and experiences from USC to working in UX design at Amazon, Inc. She will also discuss advancement in her tech career as a female leader, the importance of communication in UX design, and will provide insight into the field for interested members.

Alexis graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2016. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Media & Game Design and a minor in Innovation & Digital Entrepreneurship.

Alexis started her career as a user experience design & research intern at the Los Angeles Times in 2013. The following year, Alexis secured an internship at Care2 as a business & data analyst intern. After working at Amazon in 2015 as a user experience design intern, she joined the team as a full-time UX designer where she has developed innovative user experience design for the past four years. Her main areas of focus include creating valuable customer and user experiences for different mediums, from digital services, VR/AR technology, to physical spaces.

As a user experience designer, Alexis helps uncover essential customer information by developing user research plans, creating design systems, and building purchase decision roadmaps. Alexis passionately believes good design is critical to the success of any product and service.

In her free time, Alexis serves as a professional coach and mentor for Accelement, a Seattle-based non-profit specializing in the development of Seattle startups. Alexis is also a board member for the Seattle Interaction Design Association.
