Join USC Annenberg for a Journalism Director’s Forum event featuring a panel of industry experts who will discuss the state of podcasting and other forms of on-demand audio journalism in today’s journalistic climate.
Participants:
- John Barth, chief content officer of PRX. He helped launch The Moth Radio Hour and Reveal, both Peabody winners and has guided the development of podcasts at the Smithsonian, Outside magazine, Esquire and with many others.
- James Kim, podcast development producer, Gimlet. He has worked for Radiotopia’s Strangers, Marketplace, Deadly Manners, The Dinner Party Download, and KPCC. He is the creator of the independent fiction podcast Moonface.
- Karen Lowe, podcast producer and editor, Wondery. She is founder of the independent production company, Bending Borders, and was a correspondent for AFP and foreign editor of Marketplace.
- Paola Mardo (MA, USC Annenberg, 2017), creator and producer of the podcast Long Distance, stories from the Filipino diaspora. She has produced stories for Stitcher, KPCC’s The Frame, KCRW’s Good Food, and KQED’s The California Report.
