The Annenberg Cross-Cultural Student Association, in conjunction with the student chapters of the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and the Asian American Journalists Association, is hosting “Hear Us,” a series of panel discussions moderated by students for students from April 10th to the 13th. This is an opportunity for students to listen and be heard. 

April 10:

  • Opening mixer: 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. (ANN Plaza), food will be provided
  • Trustworthy  screening + panel/Q&A: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (ANN Auditorium)

April 11:

  • NAHJ panel: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. (ANN Forum), food will be provided
    • “Why diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness matters: While building connections with and covering communities” with Frank Rojas

April 12:

  • “Say what?” special workshop with Professor Miki Turner discussing ways to communicate with people of different cultures: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. (ANN Media Center Conference Room)
  • NABJ panel: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. (ANN Forum), food will be provided
    • “Why diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness matters: When transitioning into the workforce” with Simone Corbett, Kadeem Pilgrim & Terayle Hill
  • In the AM with PM featuring special celebrity guests: 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (ANN Forum)

April 13:

  • AAJA Panel: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. (ANN Forum), food will be provided
    • “Why diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness matters: In organizational settings” with Calvin Alagot, Jireh Deng & Jeong Park
  • #WeAreListening LIVE: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. (ANN Auditorium & ANN Forum), food will be provided. With UMG’s Trent the Hooligan & USC students Band Kori, Ariel Davis, Masongo Agora, Eva Hernandez and Syante
