As we celebrate National Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month, we pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic journalists who have enriched our communities. In this panel discussion, we will speak with leading Hispanic journalists about their work covering diverse communities, and the advancement of Hispanics in the news industry. Join us for this all-star panel featuring KPCC’s Erick Galindo, NBC’s Fernando Hurtado, and KTLA’s Lynette Romero for a conversation about their coverage across platforms.

Galindo is a KPCC/LAIst columnist and culture writer whose work had been featured in the New York Times, LA Times and LA Taco. Hurtado is a bilingual video producer and reporter based in Los Angeles and currently working with NBC LX. Romero’s work on “Access L.A. – The Latino Experience” earned her an Emmy award and she is currently a reporter and anchor at the KTLA 5 Morning News. The panel will be moderated by USC Annenberg Professor Allan Lopez.
