The Democratic plan for families and children in the 21st century
Wednesday, August 21, 2024
11 a.m. – Noon CT
Hilton Chicago, Astoria Room 3rd Floor, 720 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605
This panel in partnership with Common Sense Media will explore what the Democratic plan for families and children should consist of in the year 2024. The Biden Administration in its first term passed a temporary expansion of the child tax credit, strengthened protections for youth in the child welfare system, and eased the process to keep American families together by helping certain noncitizen spouses and children apply for lawful permanent residence. Will these policies continue in 2024? What should a second term do to combat emerging threats posed to children online? How do the Republican and Democratic plans for families differ? These questions and more will be answered by an expert panel, who will also take audience questions.
Lunch will be served!
Due to limited seating capacity, an RSVP and picture ID will be required for entry to this event.
