Name: Frances Bajet
Hometown: New York City
Undergraduate Institution: Georgetown University
Prior Work Experience: I worked for five years in publicity and marketing at book publishing companies based in New York.
Main Area of Interest: As I did my LSE dissertation on Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg, I am interested in how gender equality in the workplace is being framed in U.S. media discourse—specifically how such empowering messages are more exclusive rather than inclusive in terms of the type of women (and men) they target.
Extracurricular Involvement: As a Graduate Program Coordinator for USC Dornsife’s M.S. in Applied Psychology Program, I am primarily responsible for marketing as well as building its online profile through digital and social media.
Favorite thing about USC Annenberg: Annenberg professors make it a point to structure our projects in a way that simulates how projects would be executed in our future jobs. Whether it’s designing a social marketing campaign, or envisioning the future of a brand, we are encouraged not just to think of them as hands-on assignments but as tasks that our employers will require us to do, which further builds our professional skills and knowledge.
Favorite thing about Los Angeles: The food! I might as well make Koreatown my second address here in LA.
