Stella Lin is a PhD student at USC Annenberg. Broadly, her research interests include the racialization of labor in computing history, human-machine entanglement, the role of affect in technocultures, and psychoanalysis. She is particularly interested in the ontological politics of technology, asking how one piece of technology can be enacted or reappropriated by multiple actors towards different ends.

Prior to USC, she had work experience in multicultural advertising and non-profits in the U.S. and China. She earned her BS in Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, with a minor in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies.
