Raka is a doctoral Organizational Communication student at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Her research interests are centered around immigration and experiences of navigating the political, professional, legal, and social infrastructures around acquiring visas and citizenship. Her current research assesses uncertainty and visa acquisition within the professional workforce.

Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Raka completed a double major in Communication and Developmental Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a research assistant, teaching assistant, and honors scholar. Seeking to further her understanding of motivation within the professional workforce, Raka completed her Master’s of Communication Management at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

In her free time, Raka enjoys reading, writing, and over-caffeinating on matcha in various cafes around LA.
