nikki thomas is a cat mom, Philly sports fan, and doctoral student at USC Annenberg. thomas’ work as a scholar largely revolves around the social dynamics of sports technologies, with a focus on how these evolving technologies have paved the way for new expressions of sports fandom.

As a multimodal scholar, thomas is interested in different forms of audiovisual research methods like podcasting, photography, and documentary filmmaking. Before USC Annenberg, she studied education and Africana studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
