Kirsten Crowe is a doctoral student at USC Annenberg. Broadly, her research interests lie at the intersection of queer studies, media fandom, and lesbian feminist theory. She is particularly interested in the figure of the queer girl and how they are integral to both the production and consumption of fanworks like fanfiction, fan vids, and the evolution of canon to fanon.
Prior to joining USC Annenberg, Crowe received their BA in women, gender, sexuality studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. They are focused on connecting their background in queer feminist studies with communication and media studies.
