Edith Hollander is a doctoral student at USC Annenberg. Her research interests include market-mediated forms of activism, feminist movements, science and technology studies, and social studies of medicine. Her master’s thesis, entitled “The Market is the Medium: Femtech Capital as Politics After Dobbs,” explored venture capital investment in women’s health technology after the overturn of Roe v Wade as a site of privatized civic engagement. Her research has been presented at the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S), Association of Internet Researchers, and the Cultural Studies Association.
Edith holds an MA in Journalism and Media (Research and Theory) from The University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Philosophy from Goucher College. Prior to her work as a graduate student, she held a research assistant position at Reproductive Freedom for All, where she investigated anti-abortion disinformation and movement strategy.
