Daniela Kent

Daniela Kent (she/her/ella) is a bilingual qualitative researcher specializing in reproductive justice. Her work focuses on using the lens of stigma reduction theory to produce actionable, evidence-based abortion stigma reduction communication strategies that combat disinformation, disseminate accurate information, and humanize the abortion experience. She has worked closely with Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest as an Ambassador for their #GoodbyeStigma campaign. 

Daniela holds a BA in Literatures of the World with an area of emphasis in Cultural Studies, secondary language of Spanish, and minor in Communication from the University of California, San Diego and a MA in Communication, Health Communication concentration, from Johns Hopkins University.

Daniela is also an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) who has taught for over 15 years and led multiple foundational and advanced yoga teacher trainings. Her teaching methodology combines classical yoga philosophy and techniques with modern movement science to craft personalized practices for individuals and groups. Daniela views her research as another form of both her personal yoga practice and teaching, especially regarding the ethical practices of disrupting processes of harm (ahīmsa) and speaking truth to power (satya).
