Alicia Gabrielle “Gabbie” Puzon (she/her) is a doctoral student at USC Annenberg. Her research interests include media literacy, digital media, and misinformation, particularly in a Filipino political context. She is interested in the weaponization of social media and the role it plays in a public opinion and discourse.
Puzon’s work has been published in the Encyclopedia of Political Communication and presented in conference proceedings for the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and Social Science Research & Instructional Center (SSRIC). Prior to attending USC, Puzon worked in marketing and communications at an education non-profit and a health equity research center. She received her BA in journalism and MA in mass communication at California State University, Northridge.
