Where are you from and what were you doing before enrolling in graduate school?
I am from Beijing, China. Before enrolling in graduate school, I worked as a Financial Analyst and Media Operations Manager at a leading fintech company, specializing in wealth management and investment advisory services.
How did you learn of the degree program, and why did you choose USC Annenberg?
I discovered the Public Relations and Advertising program at USC Annenberg while searching online for the "Best communication master’s programs in the US." I chose USC Annenberg because it is widely regarded as the top communication school in the world. The program's curriculum perfectly aligns with my career goals, offering a blend of theoretical and practical approaches. Additionally, the strong support from Annenberg alumni highlights the program's invaluable network and opportunities.
What have you enjoyed the most about the degree program?
What I have enjoyed most about the program is its forward-thinking approach and its commitment to excellence. The faculty and curriculum are designed to not only stay current but to lead the industry. Specifically, the opportunity to learn from industry leaders through guest speaker sessions, where they share invaluable insights and actionable advice. This, as well as the program's progressive embrace of AI, both in research and classroom experiences. For instance, the 2025 Relevance Report underscores how AI is reshaping the PR industry by driving innovation in storytelling, efficiency, and data-driven insights. In the classroom, professors encourage ethical exploration of AI tools, equipping us with cutting-edge skills.
