The USC Annenberg fan studies salon welcomes scholars from around the world for expert panels discussing the current and changing nature of transformative media fandom. Featured panels will look at: genres, tropes, and forms; intergenerational fandom; fan communities on and offline post-COVID; and transcultural fandom. Each panel includes experts in the interdisciplinary field of fan and fandom studies. In addition, attendees are welcome to join social events like a shared breakfast and speed geeking, with the goal of fostering continued collaborative work in the field.
