Join us for an important discussion on the global fight for democracy, featuring a screening of the short film On the Brink: The Battle for Democracy by Zidaan Kapoor, a seventeen-year-old activist, entrepreneur, writer, and award-winning filmmaker.
The event takes place against the backdrop of Alexei Navalny’s mysterious death in a Russian prison this past February — an incident that drew worldwide attention to the growing dangers posed by autocratic regimes. Navalny's case is just one example of how countries like Russia and China are eroding freedoms and threatening the sovereignty of nations around the globe. As democracy continues to decline, autocracy is rapidly gaining ground.
Following the film, engage in a conversation with Kapoor to discuss the film’s themes and the urgent need to confront these challenges.
The event is presented by CPD and the Pacific Council on International Policy.
