PhD student Stella Lin

Stella Lin

2024-2025 Cohort

Stella Lin is a doctoral student at USC Annenberg. Broadly, she is interested in media infrastructure, transnational circulation of technologies, and cultures of computing. At these sites, she explores the colonial legacies that configure their forms of appearance and their often concealed dependence on and extraction from migrant labor and environment. She seeks to
excavate the geopolitical tensions and ideological negotiations hidden in the very technical and material details of digital media today.

Before USC, Stella earned her BS in Media, Culture, and Communication with honors at New York University. She also had work experience in multicultural advertising and non-profits in the U.S. and China.
