Where are you from and what were you doing before enrolling in graduate school?
I was born in Fresno, CA but am from Pasadena, CA. After high school, I attended UCLA and have lived in Los Angeles since then producing and hosting my podcast while working full-time in the non-profit field.
How did you learn of the degree program, and why did you choose USC Annenberg?
I have always known about how amazing Annenberg is and their hand in giving journalists expert training. Initially, I had my eyes on the public relations and advertising program. After much thought, I realized I wanted to pursue journalism as my podcast already consisted of reporting on entertainment news. I enjoy all forms of news, reporting, and using my voice to relate information to the public. It made sense.
What have you enjoyed the most about the degree program?
I have enjoyed the hands-on training and the state-of-the-art newsroom. Overall I am happy with what I’ve learned and am hopeful to succeed in the field of journalism post graduation.
