There have been heightened concerns that citizens hold distorted beliefs about verifiable truth that are consequential in democratic functioning and individual wellbeing. Concomitantly, major shifts in the new media ecologies complicate the processes of how facts are communicated and interpreted.

In this talk, we invite Jianing “Janice” Li to present her research on misinformation, misperception, and fact-checking in new communication ecologies.
