The first speaker series will focus on topics of citizenship, bringing together interdisciplinary speakers from USC’s Communication, Sociology, and American Studies Departments to discuss some of the most pressing issues of migrants and refugees are facing in the midst of global economic, political, environmental, and health pandemics in 2020. The speaker series will be interactive, featuring opening statements from a panel of diverse ethnic and migration studies scholars and will allow for the audience to participate and help imagine more sustainable futurities for these populations.
