Kris Kelley is an award-winning journalist with more than two decades of experience. She is the current managing director of student journalism at the L.A. Local, where she leads high school journalism programs in the Eastside, Boyle Heights, Koreatown, Pico Union, Westlake, South Los Angeles and Inglewood. Formerly the executive director of the Boyle Heights Beat, she was also a news producer for KCAL 9 News. Kelley earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in journalism from USC.
