Game Face: The rise of athlete activism
Friday, October 12, 2018
1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Wallis Annenberg Hall (ANN), 106
Is it any longer possible to separate sports from politics? Join a panel discussion — including Associate Professor of Sociology and Journalism Ben Carrington, adjunct instructors Erit Yellen (President and CEO, Orna Drive Productions) and Rob Parker (Fox Sports Analyst), and the NBA’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources and USC Annenberg parent Eric Hutcherson — about the rise in political consciousness among athletes. They will explore the broader implications of the athlete’s role in the public square and what this means for the future of sports media and culture.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC Annenberg operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the University’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other prohibited factor.
