Recent alumnus and New York Times sports reporter Jonathan Abrams (B.A. Print Journalism '05, pictured) was selected for a Times "Talk to the Newsroom: NBA Reporter" feature in which he answers readers' questions about his beat.
Abrams, who is on the road covering the playoff series between the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics, moved to The New York Times from The Los Angeles Times in September.
"It's been fun and obviously a big switch," Abrams said. "I've been fortunate early in my career. Being from California, the change to move was as much about enjoying a new life experience as anything else."
He took time out from answering readers' questions about such topics as the future of Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James to reflect on his time at USC Annenberg.
"Annenberg obviously helped lay the framework and provided me with the basis to get started," he said. "It was a trip a couple years later, working alongside a couple of my journalism professors who taught me pretty well. The change has been a good one — other than the weather."
