Award-winning Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez (pictured, left) and former President and CEO of Lifetime Entertainment Services Carole Black (pictured) headline the 2007 USC Annenberg commencement ceremonies on May 11.
Lopez will speak at the Journalism Satellite Ceremony held in USC's Argue Plaza and Black will speak at the Communication Satellite Ceremony held in USC's McCarthy Quad. Both satellite ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m., but the main University processional begins at 8 a.m.
Lopez writes the highly acclaimed "Points West" column for the Times and has won numerous journalistic awards throughout his career. During Black's six years at Lifetime, she guided it from one cable network into a powerhouse multi-media brand for women. She "took time off for good behavior" in 2005 and currently is a member of the board of directors for Time Warner Cable and the USC Annenberg Board of Councilors, among others.
Ted Koppel will be the Commencement speaker for the University ceremony, which has an 8 a.m. line-up time. Koppel is scheduled to speak at 9 a.m.
