Recent USC Annenberg alumna Hanna Ingber Win (M.A. Print Journalism '08, pictured) won the InterAction 2009 Award for Excellence in International Reporting.
Win is the world editor at The Huffington Post and has reported from places such as Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa and New York.
"Hanna has distinguished herself at HuffPo not just by aggregating the best in international coverage but more importantly by recruiting, managing, editing and publishing an impressive number of original writers from around the world," journalism professor Marc Cooper said. "She makes us all proud."
"You have been selected to receive the award in recognition of your organization’s outstanding coverage of international news," InterAction wrote to Ingber Win in the award letter. "Our members see The Huffington Post’s World News section as a true leader among the ever-growing list of online news outlets that cover international development and humanitarian action news. As you probably know, InterAction is the largest alliance of U.S.-based international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) working to overcome poverty, exclusion and suffering by advancing social justice and basic dignity for all."
Previous awardees include Femi Oke of WNYC Radio (formerly of CNN International), John Donnelly of The Boston Globe, and noted “solo journalist” Kevin Sites."
