Friends of Herb Klein (B.A. Journalism '40; pictured bottom) have endowed a journalism scholarship in honor of Klein's distinguished career. Klein was sports editor of the Daily Trojan, and later became vice president and editor-in-chief of Copley Press. Klein also served as White House Communications director during the Nixon administration. The first $5,000 Herb Klein Scholarship in Government and Political Reporting will be awarded to Lindsey Davis (pictured top). Davis, a senior double majoring in print journalism and international relations, is currently editor-in-chief of the Daily Trojan. She interned at the Press-Enterprise in Riverside during the Summer 2005. In 2002 she was Iowa High School Journalist of the Year.
