Undergraduate student Sean Patrick Lewis received two Mark Twain Awards from the Associated Press Television and Radio Association (APTRA) for packages he completed for USC Annenberg classes. "It was exciting and a true honor to be recognized for my student work by professionals that I look up to," said Lewis (B.A. Broadcast and Digital Journalism, '13). "Both pieces were stories that were close to my heart and ones I truly believed in, so it was great having time-honored guys in the business come up to me afterwards and tell me to keep up journalism like this." He won Best Serious Feature for his story titled "Cyber Hate" about college students who promoted hate speech online. His piece, "A Place Called Home," which focused on the City of Los Angeles partnering with a gay adoption organization to get more gay couples to adopt, got the award for Best Light Feature. "After graduation I plan to see where the job market takes me and explore all my options," said Lewis, who is entering his senior year this fall. "It's a competitive industry but one I'm excited about, and it'll be interesting to see where I end up going."
