Entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner (pictured, above) said to look to the future when deciding which financial decisions to make during a Nov. 18 event at USC sponsored by USC Annenberg's Center on Communication Leadership.
"You get ahead by looking ahead," Turner said. "If you want to get rich, go into clean alternative energy options."
Geoffrey Cowan (pictured with Turner), University Professor and director of the Center on Communication Leadership, conducted the interview with Turner at Bovard Auditorium.
Turner blamed nobody in particular for the U.S. economy's recent economic struggles.
"I think what happened is all our fault because we went into debt too much," he explained. "We kept . . . borrowing more and more money until we borrowed more than we were worth. You can do that for a while, but you can't do that forever. You can lose everything."
The event was produced in partnership with USC Spectrum and the USC Marshall School of Business.
