Communication emeritus professor A. Michael Noll has published his 11th book, titled "The Evolution of Media." Released by Rowman and Littlefield press, in Maryland, the textbook charts the development of both mass media and interpersonal communication technology. A second section of the book creates a system to compare the requisite technology, applications and other elements of different types of media. The book concludes with a set of methods to predict the success of future media and communication ventures.
With this latest publication, Noll adds to a body of work spanning 20 years and nearly the entire field of media communication. His previous work "An Introduction to Telephones and Telephone Systems" had its third edition printing in 1999 with Artech House (Norwood, Mass.), and his "Introduction to Telecommunication Electronics" has been printed in two editions. At the USC Annenberg School, he served as dean for an interim period from 1992 to 1994, and he taught courses in communication systems and technologies and strategic analysis.
