De Smedt wins Page Society grand prize

Strategic PR M.A. student Liesbeth De Smedt (pictured) is the winner of the Grand Prize in the 2006 Case Study Competition sponsored by the Arthur W. Page Society in alliance with the Institute for Public Relations. De Smedt will receive a $5,000 cash prize at the Arthur W. Page Society's Spring Seminar, which will be held April 6-7 in New York City. De Smedt's advisor, Prof. Craig Carroll, will also be honored at the seminar. Now in its fifth year, the Case Study Competition is designed to increase awareness among students at business, communication and journalism schools about the value of public relations as a critical function of corporate management. De Smedt is the 2006 co-president of TriSight Communications, USC Annenberg's student-run PR agency.
